Editor’s Note – the plight of all horses matters whether they are wild or domesticated. They deserve to be respected and treated humanely on all levels because horses bring a unique, and special-brand of solace to the world. Whether you volunteer at a local animal shelter, or are in rehab or therapy where they use horses as “helpers,” or even as a horse owner riding trails or competing, you understand this. So on November 15th come to Malibu and see a special screening of UNBRANDED at Starfield Farms. Come out and support the good causes happening at Big Heart Ranch and Wild Horse Sanctuary. You’ll be glad you did. UNBRANDED, the Movie – it’s All About the Mustangs

Since 1941, when world-famous horseman Egon Merz hung his hat at Escondido Beach, Malibu has attracted equestrians. Today horsey types still enjoy trail rides, hunting with hounds, and superb training facilities. Before countless other entertainers followed, Elizabeth Taylor trained in Malibu for National Velvet.
How fitting a venue then is Malibu, at the gorgeous Starfield Farms, for an exclusive screening of UNBRANDED. The film was honored to receive the Audience Award at the Telluride Mountainfilm festival. The film is brilliant on many levels – from the cinematography to the light it shines on the plight of wild horses. No spoilers here -this is a must see film, whether you are a mustang advocate, rancher, cowboy, hippie, surfer, or snowboarder. The funny bone and the adventurous spirit will both be tickled and prodded.
